Our day began far more sedately than others - sleeping in, leisurely breakfast, reading the news then heading out well after 8am. Our first port of call was the
Museum of London. This was a surprisingly well done museum that takes you through the growth and development of the city of London right back to pre-history through to conversations about the future of the city. We were enthralled for a good few hours! It was such a shame Sophia was not with us, as there was a whole section dedicated to The Plague (she had just finished a unit of study about this time in history at school). We had fun wandering through a Victorian Era town model, and Ben was cheeky enough to 'spend a penny' at one of the displays! You will notice Oliver missing in most of the photos today - he is a maximum saturation annoyance level and insists on pulling "Blue Steel" or "Magnum" faces in all photos (Zoolander reference!) We finished off our day with dinner at a local Persian restaurant this evening.

Medieval St Paul's model (100 years old) - this is what it looked like before it burnt down and was rebuilt |

On our wandering around, came across this! Can you guess which of these two was the cursed child today?! :)
Missed the open day by about 4 days - by then we'll be long gone - sigh!
Headed to the Science Museum this afternoon after lunch. The interactive displays were the favourite of the boys - they love it when they can touch things in museums. There were displays about flight, engineering, global warming/climate engineering, the future of the human body (very interesting indeed!), and the last exhibit prior to leaving was of course space exploration and flight - this paled in comparison to the Smithsonian, but was still fun.
