Ironbridge

A relaxed pace today. Slept in and headed down to the library in the castle where we were served a beautiful English breakfast.  Our guide from our private tour yesterday met us in the Great Hall and treated us to a talk about weaponry and amour. It was then time to wander through the castle grounds catching things we did not have time to see yesterday. The boys had another turn at archery and they also enjoyed the Horrible Histories Maze.

After lunch we headed to Ironbridge where we are staying tonight. We took in a short walk to the bridge and along the river Severn (including many, many stairs that had Benedict in a sour mood). We are now tucked up in our B&B (Ladywood B&B).

Walking down into Ironbridge

The first Iron Bridge in the world. A very elegant design set in picturesque surrounds.
